Wow, that was a fun episode of Greatest American Dog Wednesday night. I’m sure everyone enjoys it in a different way. Personally, I watch as a dog trainer, which is the way the judges look towards the cast through their pick of challenges. The mud challenge was difficult for most and again had Brandy fearing an end to her stay. Teresa and Leroy rocked and when she gave her prize bone to Bill and Star, I was so proud of her and at that point she wasn’t so bad to me. But I still don’t agree with her way of scolding Leroy or the way she constantly repeats things to him.
It was so cool watching Bill and Star enjoy the dog suite and you could really see it in his eyes how much he appreciated the kind gift from Teresa. I noticed this week Beth Joy calmed down and become more relaxed. I must say watching Brandy talk to Beacon and repeatedly bark commands to him, was almost too much to bear. And those cloths she makes him wear, even though he clearly didn’t want to wear them and he looked totally humiliated. As a dog trainer, I could see Beacon heading for shut down and there more she barked the more he shut down. I know he would have done the sit command more if he didn’t have all the doggie cloths on to bind him and make him too frightened to sit. Just like a dog that isn’t leash broke, at first it scares them and they step on it and don’t know what to do next, but after time they become desensitized to it and learn that it is a good thing that brings great pleasure.
THE CHALLANGE
The dance, everyone’s face lit up when they announced the dance challenge but I don’t think they really knew what a hard challenge they were getting. I must say Bill and Star sure did get great help from the choreographer and she couldn’t have designed a better dance than the one they did. Bill just looked adorable and Star really had a great time. What a team they are. Speaking of great, JD and Galaxy stood very high also, their act to me was flawless and that roll together ROCKED! On a funny note, Beth Joy and Bella Starlet’s dance, that was almost embarrassing to watch and the two of them holding hands and spinning around was too much. I was really surprised that Laura and Preston didn’t do better than they did. For some reason I don’t think Laura put a lot of time into this challenge, possibly thinking there were a few worst ones ahead of her. I was also surprised just like the judges about Travis and Presley, Presley is so much more than what we saw during that dance. I think just like with Laura, Travis was not focused on that challenge (psst, maybe they both were off doing other activities). Lastly that leaves Brandy and Beacon’s dance, I could see it all over Beacons face that he wasn’t going to give a good performance and they didn’t. But I must admit though, thru her dance she did stay positive and didn’t loose it or scream at Beacon, so in the end when she had to leave, she at least left with her dignity.
See ya next week
