Wednesday’s nights show of Greatest American Dog was definitely the best one so far. Kind of like American Idol, when it gets down to the last few it the more exciting.

Oh, I just have to talk about Bill and Star first. I’m so sad that they were voted off. Bill brought so much to the show and always had a helping hand for anyone to take. He has a big heart and I’m so proud of him and Star and the way he went out was nothing but class. You could see it all over the remaining teams that they were all sad to see him leave, what a special moment.

The dog bone challenge; A 9,000 pound elephant and the dog can’t move out of the circle. How in the world did they come up with that? Talk about distractions, I don’t know of very many dogs that could with stand such a task. Andrew didn’t think it was so hard. Andrew’s face was precious as that elephant kept getting closer and closer to him. All I kept saying was, WOW. Andrew definitely showed courage, I don’t know if he was that well trained or scared to death to move. Whichever it was didn’t matter in the end because Galaxy just couldn’t stand the pressure. It really surprised me and I would have never guessed that Andrew would win over Galaxy. One thing that I think have helped Andrew was Laurie’s calm voice and good body language. You would have thought she and Andrew had won a leg up and had a chance to acclimate with the elephant. I thought after the puppy challenge there was know way Andrew could with stand a 9,000 pound elephant.

“I never thought in a million years I would see my orange dog fly”, when Bill said this and the emotion all over his face, it just about put me in tears from laughing so hard. I really thought he did the right thing for picking the red ramp instead of the blue one and I thought the judges would have applaud his choice also. Especially after last weeks show where they ridiculed him for pushing Star to hard. Then when he couldn’t get Star to fly he said he was done and none of the judge recognized that he had learned his lesson from the week before. I don’t think he should have been voted off when he was showing improvement from the judge’s comments. Teresa and Leroy did great and when Leroy finally jump it was very suspenseful but I did think the judges would have mentioned that she told Leroy to shut up during the challenge. I was really surprised that Teresa and Leroy weren’t in the bottom three. I was really proud of Andrew and he looked so precious and focused but in the end he couldn’t jump and what little dog would, that was just entirely too high for a small dog like Andrew. I was equally proud of Laurie for stopping the challenge because Andrew appeared stressed and had, had enough of that flying nonsense. J.D. and Galaxy rocked on their turn, which I think everyone knew they would but still they need recognition for their great performance. Just when I think Galaxy is the best trained dog on the show, here goes Andrew holding a sit stay while a 9,000 pound elephant charges at him. J.D. and Galaxy received great praise for their accomplishments and that made me so happy, they deserved every bit and more. That leaves Travis and Presley, I just loved the way they showed how much Travis has learned and is well on his way of being a good dog trainer for his beloved Presley. I thought they did great on the flying challenge and yes Travis did take a chance for praising Presley too much after he finished walking across the very high plank but when Presley finally decided to fly, I thought Travis was going to fall over with joy towards Presley. Travis loves that dog so much and each challenge Presley does makes Travis so thrilled to be learning and sharing in this adventure.

Just one more thing I forgot to mention earlier and that is how wonderfully fun it is now with Beth Joy and Bella Starlet gone. The house guests are so much more relaxed and open now that the wicked witch of the west is gone. I can’t wait for next weeks show. See ya then.
