Crates are wonderful tools when it come to training your dog/puppy. A crate does many things that can help your dog’s behavior and training. Size of the crate is very important especially if you are trying to work on housebreaking, a proper size crate is one the dog can stand up, turn around and lie back down comfortably. See dogs don’t like to eliminate where they lie, so if the crate is too big then they could go to the bathroom at the front and then go to the back and lie down with know discomfort. Also a crate can help you be consistent while fixing behavior problems, a dog can only be corrected for a bad behavior if you catch them and when you are not supervising them then they should be in their crate with a fun bone or toy. When the dog is in the crate he/she can’t display bad behavior like digging or eliminating while your not looking.
